Diagnostic criteria for alcoholic hepatitis

Rapid development or worsening of jaundice and liver-related complications
Serum TBIL > 51 mcmol/L [> 3 mg/dL]
ALT and AST elevated > 1.5 times the ULN but < 400 U/L with an AST/ALT ratio > 1.5
Documentation of heavy alcohol use until 8 weeks before the onset of symptoms
Exclusion of other liver diseases
Diagnostic criteria are not met
