EORTC/RTOG classification of radiation-induced hemorrhagic cystitis
Clinical signs and findings
Slight epithelial atrophy, minor telangiectasia, microscopic hematuria
Moderate frequency, generalized telangiectasia, intermittent macroscopic hematuria
Severe frequency and dysuria, generalized telangiectasia often with petechiae, frequent hematuria with decreased bladder capacity
Necrosis/contracted bladder, severe hemorrhagic cystitis
Death directly due to hemorrhagic cystitis
